coco on the go.

after purchasing these suede shorts from h&m months ago, they hung in my closet (yes i hang shorts these wrinkle easily okay) awaiting the day i would finally match them with the perfect boho outfit that made me completely blog-irresistible. then that day came and went. and then many more days came and went until i decided to put them on and experiment. as the little lace kimonos and dark band tees started piling up on my bed, i was beginning to accept these little short's defeat. raking through the hangers in my closet for the millionth time, (i am not a patient person so it literally felt that long) a glimmer of gold struck my attention. this little shimmer of hope was the golden pocket emblem stitched onto a jean ralph lauren thrift store find that had easily become one of my favs. because i was 100% done with thinking in general at this point, i decided, "what the heck?! put on the oversized jean button up and let's see if any magic happens." oh it did. there was magic everywhere in that closet. it was freaking narnia flashbacks. the lion, the witch and the coco. that was really dumb but whatever. ANYWAY i realized that i had been trying way to hard. sometimes you have to let it come simply instead of trying to pair every detail with every single piece.

why do i love this outfit so much? first, the variety in texture gives the outfit depth, even though it is very simple. the gold that first caught my eye perfectly compliments the slight sheen in the camel colored shorts. i am wearing a fitted black tee to break up the different textures and add a nice background to the outfit. a baggy top was what i needed to offset the tightness of the pieces beneath. i like the ease this creates, so instead of a chunky necklace or dramatic earrings, i opted for neutral bracelets layered on both wrists.

moral of the story is when you are not feeling it fashion-wise, don't push it. maybe you need the same a-ha moment that i had. maybe everyone else doesn't stress about clothes like i do and prefer to do something more productive with their wednesday afternoon. jk lol.

coco.
