I think people take simplicity for granted. When the large majority hear the word "simple," cheap or plain are most likely synonyms that are close behind. While styling my own wardrobe lately, I have been finding that I am slowing changing in my own views of that word. Simple to me means clean. Simple to me means uncomplicated. That is what I strive to be and that theory is starting to peak through every little hole in my jeans.
This is not what I though fashion was before. I thought it meant layers and patterns and stilettos, which I still live by, yet I am noticing my own self taking a turn. Isn't that kind of scary and beautiful at the same time? I am starting to see that Coco can be avant-garde while loving the small details all the same. That is the fun of being 19. I can encompass everything that I want to be, not matter how diverse, all in this 100 pound body. So today, I am here to tell you about the simple side of Coco, a side I am particularly fond of at the moment.
Free People has been my utmost enemy/best friend over the past few weeks. They just put new items on sale that you have to go search through! That brand is one of my favorites because it gives a lot of variety in style choices while sticking true to themselves. My new favorites can be found below. The purchases started with that pretty angled lace blouse I am wearing. If I can give any advice about sheer lace tops, it would be to wear a nude tank. Any other color just takes away from the simple effect. The lace pattern is intricate yet gorgeously effortless. Layered on top is a hunter green knit sweater. This warm color compliments the ivory of the top, keeping within the darker color family. I was going to wear my all time favorite black skinnies, but felt the boyfriend jeans keep the flow of the oversized and comfortable vibes going. I think the lighter wash lightens up the outfit since I am still living in a very warm September. I didn't want to overwhelm with heavy jewelry since I am trying to keep the outfit smooth and clean. One little accent nicely added is one of my favorite necklaces- the layered eagle. I love the little turquoise stone, as well as the accompanying pendant.
As I have recently learned, it is ok to have more than one so called "style." You can be you in however many different trends you choose to follow. Fashion can be your way of expression just as art or music or even blogging are for others. Luckily, Coco falls into two of those categories. I have too much to express obviously! Let me know what your definition of simple is and what you think of the latest look. Oh, and one more thing, before you look below and are shocked: I am a blonde!
